Frank Caprio’s Early Life and Education:
He was Developed on Federal Hill in Providence, the second of three brothers. When he was young, he followed his parents’ lead and worked very hard to improve the lives of those around him. There he worked distributing newspapers in the city. And he also worked on milk trucks, as well as shining people’s shoes.
He completed his graduate degree from Central High School and his bachelor’s degree from Providence College. After finished his graduate degree, he stop in the capital and began teaching at Hope High School. During his teaching profession, he began taking night classes at the University of Suffolk School of Law. And he began studying law, which led him to join the judge’s profession.
Frank Caprio’s 40-year illustrious career:
He began his career as a judge in 1985 and won the hearts of people with his kindness and compassion. He won the hearts of countless people because of the good things he did for people. Due to his efforts for the welfare of the people, he was also assign the title of the best judge in the world by the people.
Apart from being a good judge, he was also a celebrity who was a social media star and had billions of fans. He achieved fame on social media for his TV show “Caught on Providence” which has billions of views on social media. In 2021, he gained a lot of popularity as his TV show also won a Daytime Emmy Award.
At the same time, he did not fulfill his responsibility as chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Higher Education well, and he dedicated ten years of his life to it. At the University of Suffolk School of Law, he launched the Antonio “Tup” Scholarship, named after his father. It is awarded to Rhode Island students who improve access to legal services for underserved neighborhoods.
Caprio took full authority for his actions for nearly 40 years in Providence Municipal Court and then retired from it in January 2023. And in October 2023, 9 months after his retirement, the Municipal Court named its bar after him.

After his 87th birthday, Frank unveiled that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2023. His last radiation treatment was in May 2025. On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, he shared a post on Facebook, saying, “I’m in the hospital again”. And he appealing for prayers from his fans. He leaves behind a wife and five children.
