Swat flash floods – Engulf 16 members of a family :

Introduction:

Severe flooding wreak havoc in Swat, with 16 members of the same family swept away in a matter of moments. They were all swept away one by one within an hour. Swat flash floods have swept away 16 members of the same family, along with dozens of others. They kept screaming and shouting and calling for help. But no one came to their aid and in a few moments, they were all swept away one by one.

Some people were watching their misery from a distance. But they themselves were helpless and could do nothing to help them. One by one, they watched themselves drift away and cried out for help, but in a moment, everything was over. According to rescue sources they reccued three people alive, seven people died and the remaining five are still missing.

Statement of Swat Assistant Commissioner:

• Swat Assistant Commissioner Dr. Nida Iqbal says that the Swat administration imposed Section 144 a few days ago, keeping in mind the flood situation.
• He added that while 7 people lost their lives, we were able to save three people alive.
• The Director General of Pakhtun Ka Rescue says that about 80 people are participating in the rescue to search for the remaining missing people.

Division Commissioner Abid Wazir:

• Division Commissioner Abid Wazir has also announced a inquary commission to determine the fault after this painful incident.
• Speaking to the media, he said that we take immediate action after the flood situation in the area. And rescued four people alive and recover 8 bodies ..
• He added that they impose Section 144 here since June 2 . Which has been violated 45 times.
• He further said that we rescued 72,000 tourists who were trapped in an impossible situation .

Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Mehboob statement about Swat flash floods:

• Shahzad Mehboob said that the local administration had taken safety measures before this unfortunate incident of Swat flash floods.
• He said that alarming signs were placed along the banks of the Swat River to prevent tourists from visiting dangerous places.
• He further appealed to stay away from such dangerous places and protect yourself and your loved ones.

Statement of Family members of Victoms:

• Rana Ahmed Ali, who is his relative, says that this incident suddenly happened while we were enjoying the morning.
• He further said that we had come from Daska to visit Swat ,while we were having breakfast, some of our children and adults were taking selfies by the river.
• He said that unexpectedly, the water would swept away our loved ones before our eyes . And we could do nothing.
