According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Sindh today as well. The PDMA has issued a high alert to the district administration for the monsoon spell starting tomorrow. And due to heavy rains, the Indus River has flooded, and this series of rains will continue from July 20 to July 25 in different areas .
Heavy rain likely in Punjab:
According to the latest reports from the PDMA, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in various areas of Punjab. This new series of monsoon rains will continue in various areas of Punjab from July 20 to July 25. According to the details, heavy rain is likely in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan, among other areas.
PDMA has issued a high alert to the district administration and it has also been said to be ready to deal with any emergency situation. Director General Irfan Ali said that heavy rains have bring about flooding in Tarbela and Kalabagh. And it has also shown that there is a high risk of flooding at Chashma Point in the Indus River.
Light rain expected in Karachi:
The weather in Karachi is cloudy and there is a possibility of light rain today. The Meteorological Department recorded a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius there today and a humidity of 72 percent. And there are sea winds blowing at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour.
Heavy rain likely in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
The Meteorological Department has anticipated heavy rain in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the latest report, rain is likely in various areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Battagram, Shangla and Mansehra. Yesterday, 14 mm of rain was note in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Kakul and 3 mm in Balakot.
Damage caused by heavy rains in Punjab:
According to the PDMA report, about 123 people lost their lives due to rains in Punjab. And with this, about 462 people have also been injured. These people died from lightning strikes, drowning, roof collapses, and electric shocks. Along with this, the public has been appealed to avoid leaving their homes, going near rivers, and going to dangerous places during heavy rain in monsoon spell.
